MBTI is a 4 letter typing system with 16 types

Most people only know the generalized version of this...aka 16 personalities but there is alot more to it Mbti types are made up of 4 of 8 cognitive functions the 8 cognitive functions are basically the way your brain works and the priorities it has here are the names (and shortens most ppl use) introverted intuition (Ni) extraverted intuition (Ne) introverted feeling (Fi) extraverted feeling (Fe) introverted sensing (Si) extraverted sensing (Se) introverted thinking (Ti) extraverted thinking (Te) Each type either goes in a I E I E or E I E I format Using myself as an example.. Fi (dominant function) Ne (auxiliary function) Si (tertiary function) Te (inferior function) Each of those little places the function goes in means the maturity and frequency of use of the function Fi is my most mature and used function while Te is my least mature and used function These can really improve the understanding of yourself and others If you want to actually learn what your Mbti/cognitive functions mean, i suggest this persons tumblr, very good resource and well explained https://mbti-notes.tumblr.com/

Enneagram is a 9 type system that branches out into...18 types...

its not as complicated as it sounds i swear

the types are

  • type 1 - 1w2 1w9
  • type 2 - 2w1 2w3
  • type 3 - 3w2 3w4
  • type 4 - 4w3 4w5
  • type 5 - 5w4 5w6
  • type 6 - 6w5 6w7
  • type 7 - 7w6 7w8
  • type 8 - 8w7 8w9
  • type 9 - 9w8 9w1
  • each type has a wing, which is its side partner you relate to the most example: Im a type 9 that leans into 1 features, so im a 9w1 It'd take a long time to explain them, so again ill give a resource i think is good for explaining each: https://www.enneagraminstitute.com/type-descriptions This describes each type, basic desires, fears, etcetera and explains how each type behaves at different healthiness levels Id like to note, with almost all typology systems, you are a unique instance of your type and your type will act differently at different healthy levels Typology isnt telling you you are one way, its putting you in a category of ways people think enneagram branches into...two more different systems instinctual variants and tritypes instinctual variants are essentially your prioritizes in day to day life in your enneagram social priority (so) desires priority (sx) self preservation priority (sp) for example, i am a type 9 so/sx so most of the time ill put the social needs of the group over everything, unless that isnt applicable, where ill do what i want self preservation being my blindspot, meaning I really don't care much for my safety... Each type will have a completely different take on instinctual variants so its good to think of it in terms of your enneagram this resource isn't too bad - https://www.narrativeenneagram.org/instinctual-subtypes/ Tritype is a little more complicated Tritype is the highest pick of the three groups of enneagram in one type enneagram is broke into 3 different triads gut (1, 9, 8) heart (2, 3, 4) head (5, 6, 7) to explain this better, im a 952 aka my core type is 9 so obviously 9 highest of gut my highest head type is 5 and my highest heart type is 2 (when i say highest, i mean most relatable to me) I usually put this into the ones i use the most so 952 because i use 9 the most and 2 the least but you can format it in literally any way 259 925 592 295 etc people will understand what you mean sadly i cant give a pretty good resource for Tritype, so youll have to research yourself, but when it comes to tritype that's not that big of an issue since all the types in Tritype is the same as the descriptions for normal enneagram, so just use the normal enneagram definitions!

SLOAN (also known as big 5)

    - in my opinion is the most simple typology system there is There are 5 categories with 2 options And the option you are more, is that letter so the options go as this social or reserved? limbic or calm? (limbic means easily influenced by your emotions) organized or unorganized? accommodating or egotistical? (when it says egotistical...it means like focuses on helping self) non-intuitive or intuitive? My type is literally the name of the system..SLOAN I actually recommend using tests for SLOAN Because itll gather the percentages of answers for each option, and choose the option with the highest percentage its not as bad as the tests for the other systems. I suggest this resource (im sorry it has the gender option, it sucks so i would just put whatever one is more comfortable) - https://similarminds.com/bigfive.html Look for the part that follows the sloan pattern and youve found your type (most likely, as mistyping is uncommon with these but possible)

If youve already looked into these, and youre looking for something else i suggest atitudinal psyche heres the official website - https://www.attitudinalpsyche.com/ I also (partially) suggest socionics its hard to get into and i PERSONALLY hate it with my gut for right now, but its still cool and fun i dont have a resource for this...bc i have no clue what good or bad one i could give but yeah that is my overview on 3 main typology systems
